Tax relief on the assessment fee of a dependent child is allowable via the MED1 form. To qualify for relief, your health care must be carried out, or advised, by a registered practitioner. The revenue website details the following "additional expenses of health care for a child" as eligible for tax relief:

• Suffering from a life-threatening illness or permanent disability

OR

• Who needs speech and language therapy or educational psychological assessment
