Parents who have received a diagnosis for their child at Listowel Children's Services or elsewhere

Why would parents need this?

Thorough feedback is given following diagnoses and time is always given to answer any questions you may have. However, it is often an intense time with a lot of new information and feelings to process. After receiving a diagnosis for your child / adolescent, you may have many different thoughts, feelings, worries or goals that you want to achieve.

What is it?

Post-diagnostic support can be helpful in guiding you through this process and helping you to focus on particular priorities that you want to address or talk through (e.g. decisions are school placements, informing children about their diagnosis etc). Advice and recommendations may be given or action plans may be made for specific goals going forward. Sometimes, having the space just to talk through some worries or thoughts and understand the diagnosis can give re-assurance, clarity and direction going forward.

Cost:

€100 for existing clients, €150 for new clients.
